CASE STUDIES - Invest Queensland


The Queensland Government (Invest Queensland – Brisbane, Australia) recently engaged Ernest Lorraine Associates to identify potential North American companies for advanced manufacturing investment projects in Regional Queensland (Townsville, Abbott’s Point, Mackay, & Gladstone, Queensland) and make introductions to the appropriate contacts within these companies.

In addition to the Queensland’s government regional stakeholders included: Townsville Enterprize, Bowen, Collinsville, Enterprise, Inc., Mackey & Whitsunday Regional Economic Development Corporation, Rockhampton Regional Development, and the Gladstone Economic and Industry Development Board.

Over a week’s time ELA toured the State and held 38 interviews and/or forums with additional stakeholders and conducted an inter-active presentation at the State’s Annual Summit.

ELA & EA identified, defined, and articulated target industry and recommendations, the final report included: the Australia economic overview, Australia economic base analysis, Australia industrial activity analysis, site visit overview, competitive advantages, SWOT analysis, site selection criteria, target industry recommendations, trends, USA manufacturing overview, industry definitions, sub-sector overviews, NAICS description, number of establishments, sales, receipts, or shipments, annual USA payroll, paid employees, keywords, marketing message, site selection matrix, and outreach strategy.
